The "STAR BOOK" - world's first controller with a large colour LCD screen; the internal memory stores a total of over 22,725 celestial objects included 110 Messier and 4980 NGC/IC objects. Star Map Mode

Current positions of stars are displayed as a map. The telescope is automaticalled slewed to point at the star you wish to observe by setting the cursor over it on the screen and pressing the enter button (Automatic go-to system).

Telescope Mode

The information about the celestial sky the telescope points to is displayed. It will reveal the information of the star next to the one you are observing. The Sphinx Mount was designed with the built-in motors which makes setting up easy as no cords are exposed.

1. High Speed Computerized Goto System   

By reducing the length of the Declination Axis; with the energy-saving high speed built-in motors, the rotation movement of the Polar Axis was significantly improved. 

2. Built-In Dec & RA Motors

Sphinx Mount is designed by installing the Dec & RA Motors inside the mount housing; which makes setting-up easier since it does not expose the connection cords compares with the model without the built-in motors.

3. Reduced Weight

It employs an unprecedented design with the two built-in motors mounted inside the mount housing at the lower end of the Dec Axis; and the motors act as the counter weight, therefore the optical tube can now be balanced by adding fewer counterweights.

4. Adjustable Counterweight Bar

The Counter Weight Bar is manufactured using the Stainless Steel material, therefore it is anti-corrosion & rust. In addition, the adjustable counterweight bar can be retracted inside the main body of the mount housing which makes transportation and storage easier. 

5. Polar Axis Scope

Since we are unable to locate the Pole Star in Singapore due to the low altitude (N 1.15 degree), for those who are making observation in other countries, the Polar Scope makes alignment with ease, as the polar axis can be align accurately with the Pole Star with the newly implemented precession correction scale.

6. Larger SX-HAL130 Field Tripod

A highly durable improved tripod (SX-HAL130) that prevents off alignment twists around at the crossing of the Zenith while conducting observation or imaging sesion, it enable a stable and accurate alignment throughout the observation session. 

7. SX Half Pier

Due to the low altitude of Singapore (N1.15 degree), the counterweights have a tendency to strike against the tripod legs while making the Zenith cross-over, therefore, we recommended that a half pier to be installed to prevent the counterweight from striking against the tripod legs, for it may caused damage to the motors and the RA shaft. The cost of the mount has included the SX Half Pier.
